"The EMS 2000 Rucksack is a great day pack suitable for all types of adventures. Made of ripstop polyester reinforced by heavy-duty nylon at the bottom and the inside, it will stand up to all kinds of abuse. The large main compartment is acessable by a strong u-shaped zipper backed up by four compresion straps-two on each side. These straps can also be used to hold backcountry skis. The pack sports two ice ax loops and straps for ice climbing or mountaineering. Also on the outside of the pack are two straps that are useful for strapping on a jacket, tarp, or other soft item. The large compartment of the pack can hold a days worth of supplies for hiking, skiing, boating, biking, mountain climbing, rock climbing, or hut-to-hut hiking. The only weakness I found with this pack is the lack of any outside pockets to organize equipment. The only other pocket besides the main compartment is a small hanging pocket inside with a key lanyard. The pocket can hold pens, pencils, maps, compasses, or notebooks. All in all, this is a versital and economical choice at around $50."
