"Pursuit is an awesome alpine back. It's big enough for you to carry all the essential items and small enough to keep you agile and comfortable- it's just the right size. It is the most comfortable bag I've used. It is also a handsome backpack."

"The pursuit is a kick-ass pack as is most macpac gear. Macpac is a great company and all their gear works really well. The only negative aspect is that it is not blader compatable"

JeffL, 0/0/00 User Rating:
"I've got the Pursuit Classic (Macpac split the range into many products in 2004), which is the standard 50L Pursuit.

Pros: Bombproof, excellent construction. Very comfortable harness. Slim, climbing-opriented construction works well in alpine environments- it doesn't throw off your balance when it's needed. Aztec material is more waterproof for the long term, unlike coated nylon that needs to be retreated periodically.

Cons: Because it's an alpine pack, it's narrow cut makes packing less convenient for less demanding environments such as hiking. Also because it's an alpine pack, it doesn't come with side or front pockets.

Overall: Like most Macpac products, this is a great alternative to more ubiquitous offerings from North American manufacturers. Simple and works well."
