"My foot is very hard to fit: I'm a large person with medium-wide midfoot and very narrow heel. I practically live in thick-sole Tevas, so any boot has a difficult time meeting my comfort standards. After trying on most every mid-range boot on the market, I ordered a pair of Crestas. WOW! They grip my mid-foot, instep and ankle like a soft glove, and don't rub my heels. The toe-box is really roomy, and they have maybe 1/2" longer toe-space than any other size-12 I've tried. Bean's 1-800 "Boot Line" person told me to go ahead and wear them a while, and return them if they began to hurt me. I went out and put 6 miles on them the afternoon they arrived, and can truly say that NO other footwear I've worn -- Tevas included -- is more comfortable than these boots. As a plus, the beautiful workmanship and company service give me a really good feeling that Somebody is still "doing it right"!"

"I bought a pair of size 13 narrow last year and was happy with them in terms of comfort, etc. But the soles wore out after a few hundred miles backbacking. I bought another pair of Crestas this year--a size bigger and am hoping they remain durable--I've hiked many of the 4000 plus New Hampshire mountains with them and consider the LL Bean customer policy one of the best--they replaced some smart wool socks recently which had worn out quickly."
