"I haven't tried to put my Lowa Tempest to the test of hiking in the Rockies but I do wear them to walk my dog about 4 miles a day. They are the most comfortable shoes I've ever had for walking and after 6 months they hardly show signs of wear. They are worth the price I paid for them."

"A great boot, if not a bit pricey, for those that require a wide toe box. Also a great boot for rock scrambling because of the sticky rubber, however, I question if the sole will wear out quickly."

"The absolute best boots that I have ever owned - Comfortable and rugged!"

"I now have 2 pairs!!! I bought these shortly before my trip to Venezuela a year ago, and after hiking well over 20 miles in just 2 days at over 10k feet, I was SO happy to have shoes that I literally didn't want to take off half the time!! They are incredibly comfortable, and well built! I recently went back and bought another pair, just in case the first does break down, I've got a second to fill in where the first ones left off!"

"Very comfortable and light weight, even descent for extremely hot west weather (Iraq), but in just under a year they are blown out, the inside heel pocket started coming apart at eight months, and the sole by ten months, I used shoe goo for repair that did not last long. But to be fair this was essentially my only foot wear for all ocassions for a year. All that being said I would still purchase another pair."
