"Just recently returned from a 5 day, 53 mile hike through Glacier National Park. I needed to pick up a pair of new boots. Since the trip was planned to be mostly on-trail hiking, I decided to pick up a pair of Nike "Air Mada Pro Mid" boots... they didn't appear to be very "tough" boots, but I didn't believe that I needed really tough (expensive) boots.
Getting on with the review: The boots were very comfortable, and worked quite well out-of-the-box, I developed a couple of hot-spots around the big toes, but was able to take care of the problem with a little bit of tape.
All in all, I thought that they were pretty nice boots...until I looked at the soles after the trip. Hiking on about 53 miles of trails (with one side-trip to Sue lake) the boot's soles are WORN OUT! The lugs on the heels and toe areas are almost all gone - most of which look like someone took a "ginsu" knife to them and performed a bunch of hacking on the lugs...
Bottom line: Even though the boots have the label "ACG" (All Condition Gear) I believe that these boots really aren't made for any kind of extended hiking trips, and are better suited for hiking the halls of work instead."
