"I purchased a pair of these in 1979, and they are still going strong, 26 years and countless miles later. Incredible, considering I go through sneakers in a matter of months. I also climbed Ranier in these.
Pros: They never wear out. Still on the original soles. Warm. Cons: Very, very heavy by today's standards; all leather requires frequent Sno-seal and welt seal. Warm."

"I bought mine in the 1970s. Two sets of soles later, the rest of them finally got too damaged to wear. The boots themselves were still going strong, only the Movers were to blame. Wish I could find another pair..."
