"I was looking for a well made backpacking boot with a gore-tex lining to keep my feet dry. I had heard that these boots worked extremely well and thought I'd give them a try. The first thing that I noticed was the fit. I wear sz 12 boots and they were extremely comfortable, especially with the Vasque insoles I bought with them. The break-in time was only about a week of wearing them around the house and to work. I noticed they were sturdy and supportive without feeling like diving boots. I've worn them for over 2 years now and have logged over 100 miles of off and on trail miles with them and I still love them. They have never leaked, I've only got one blister (bad socks) and the Vibram sole is really sticky. I'll be sad when its time to replace them. I got mine on sale at REI for only $149.00 The newer ones out now have a built in rubber rand around the toe which lessens the toe wear. A+++ boots"
