Moonstone Momentum Tech Parka Review

"I've owned this 3-ply Gore-Tex shell for 3 years and use it for mountaineering and alpine backpacking. It weighs 21oz and has reinforced shoulders and elbows which still show no wear. The long pit zips ventilate the jacket very well. The velcro cuffs and rollup storm hood work great. There are 2 zippered chest pockets which swallow a 1-liter platypus bottle with ease. My only complaint about the pockets is that they open from the bottom, which means anything inside may fall out; nonetheless, the pockets are fairly deep and I haven't had any problems. The only areas which show wear are on the inside of the jacket where the hipbelt rubs--I patched it with Gore-Tex patches without any negative results. I've sweat alot in this jacket, but the jacket breathes well. Multiple-day climbs/hikes in pouring wind-driven rain and I've ALWAYS been dry. The jacket is oversized for layering in camp. When this jacket wears out, I will buy another one!"
