"It is getting pretty hard to differentiate between the top of the line GoreTex parkas put out nowadays. They are all quite well made and will meet most peoples needs.
The thing about this parka was it had the basic features I wanted for winter alpine hiking without paying The North Face prices.
It has nice big front pockets, three on each side with side and top zippers. It also has an inner zip pocket and a handy sleeve pocket for lip balm, etc. The hood and waist has all the usual adjustment cords. There are nice long pit zips for easy access scratching, I mean venting, and velcro cuffs for tight seals around gloves. The parka shell itself is 2-ply GoreTex. It also has zippers for adding a fleece liner.
One nice feature that isn't always found on parkas is a gripper skirt that is great for keeping the wind from sneaking in under your waistline.
It's too bad Solstice clothes aren't sold in more places, I've certainly had no regrets."
