"Price - around $250 with case, batteries ( 12 hour life) and handbook. Options - External antenna, Computer and power leads, PC software.
Performance is brilliant. Works well in open country or light tree cover even when carried in its case on my belt, without external antenna. Also works well sitting on front seat of my car.
Even when it does loose the birds, it reacquires in well under a minute when conditions improve.
Very easy to programme way points and routes. Well thought out ( and user configurable) displays for different navigation tasks. Has loads of grids and datums plus one 'user grid' for the odd ball maps.
I would not leave home without it; but always take along a map and compass as well."
