Komperdell Treking Poles Review
Reviews
Elliott Wolin, 2/25/06
"Not sure why everyone is having problems...my two pair work great. And I bought Komperdell upon recommendation of more than one friend. Lightweight, sturdy, and with a secure locking mechanism, what more can you want?"

"I have a pair of Komperdell treking poles which I have used only twice on short weekend backpacking trips. Let me tell you, these poles did not perform like I expected. On my last trip to the Dolly Sods Wilderness area (WV), one of my poles lost the plastic piece at the bottom which allows for telescopic action. It also holds the "cup" at the bottom. How it came off I have no idea. Furthermore, for both poles gave in with weight. It rained like crazy but this should have not impacted the pole's performance. Sorry Komperdell, you had your chance---I will be switching to Leki."

"I tested out a pair of contourgrip non anti-shock poles on a trip this last weakend. Almost every time I planted the pole it would vibrate and rattle. "

"I recently purchased two sets of these poles from an outlet-website. One set with the anti-shock springs and the other just plain. As a new user I had to develop a bit of technique on the use of hiking poles. I found the antishock version had a tinny vibration and noise during use whereas the plain ones were nice & solid. Both came with carbide tips & average sized baskets. They were reasonably priced so I can't complain."
