"I recently spent several night's on one of these pads. Excellent!
You stay on the pad because the outside has a non-slip surface.
Also, it compacts up very small (much smaller than my old Therma
Rest)."
"An excellent pad. I have both a Skin Mat and a Thermarest, and the one I pack for myself is the Skin Mat. The surface is kind of funky feeling, but very non-slip and, in three years of moderate use, very durable. A great piece of equipment i reccomend highly."
"I have an Artiach skin mat that is going on 11 years old. It is an outstanding mat that is the most comfortable one I have ever used. The best feature is that it is so packable that I can put it inside my Kelty pack and still have tons of room."
"I agree, good pad. Should I be upset that after ten years of use the pad is no longer holding pressure? I've been unable to contact the manufacturer and have started shopping for a new mattress. I guess I shouldn't be too upset because cost per use comes to about 10 cents."
"This mat punctured easily and was hard to blowup to enough fullness to be comfortable. Wish I could get my money back but alas the dealer wouldn't accept a damaged returned. Cute."
"i love this pad! got it in brazil a few years back. the sticky surface is wonderful, and as others have mentioned, it gets very very small. however, i left it in the direct sun while still blown up and i watched a basketball-size 'bubble' expand from the surface in about 2 sec. now i can't use it- huge mound of air right in my back. be careful!"
