"There are very fine alternatives to the highly mass marketed Therma-rest product line! The Ergomat is quite comfortable, relying on the same principle as the Thermarest ie: an egg shell foam pad encased within an airtight chamber.
The Ergomat is split into 4 sections for added control over your "bed", with the topmost section inflating as a pillow.
If one was to be so unfortunate as to spring a leak, only one chamber would be effected, rather than the entire mattress.
I have been very comfortable with mine, after several years using a Ridge Rest, but this has much better support for the hips when you are on your side.
At $40 (Campmor), I think it is a better value than the Thermarest, and only comes in 1 model, so you gear freaks can fret a little less over which model to buy!"
