"I bought the Raptor based on other reviews I've read regarding this stove working well in cold weather. I recently used this stove during a winter hike when the temperature was near -10. It fired up easily, but would not completely boil the soup I was cooking. I know asking a portable backpacking stove to boil anything at -10 is unrealistic, so I gave the Raptor it's due praise. Although it didn't boil it, it was still hot enough to burn my lip.
Had it been just a little warmer, I'm sure it would have performed perfectly. I will be keeping this stove"
"This little rocket engine is worth it's weight in gold! With a price as light as it's weight (5oz.), it's compact size and pietzo starter make it a must have. A nicely adjustable flame allows you to simmer a delicate sauce or inflate a hot air balloon! Personally, I just boiled water and 1 liter takes just a few minutes. Only improvement on this would be an optional wind screen."
