"After years of faithful service with a Coleman Peak 1 which start as soon as the valve is turend on - no pre heating - the Primus MFS is a pain to start with liquid fuels. Great on gas though. One litre of water took 7.5 minutes to boil on gas and 8.5 on white petrol (not the 3 and 3.5 minutes shown in the specs on the GearPro website)
The stove will simmer on gas but only with great difficulty on liquid fuels.
Also no built in valve cleaner is a pain. It is too easy to loose bits from the stove eg the valve pricker, spanner, flame
spreader, fuel bottle seal. A maintenance kit is a must for longer trips"
