"I’m 62 and have been camping and backpacking all my life. I have a SVEA 123 Stove that I bought back in 1970’s and with out any exception it is my favorite and most reliable piece of backpacking and camping gear. It has never failed to light or work. It’s been to Baxter in Maine, the top of Mt. Holy Cross in Colorado, down the Salmon River in Idaho and on many other trips in Arizona, Texas, Virginia, and Pennsylvania. If anything were to happen to the one I have now I would not hesitate to go out and buy another to replace it. I have two other camping stoves I also use depending on the trip and number of people going, but the Svea 123 goes on all trips and is used every time."

"I've had a Svea 123 since the early 70s and up to this day I've never had a problem with it. If you keep it clean, the stove will work very well. To preheat the stove, I don't use fire paste but take along an eye dropper and use that to put some of the stove fuel in the well at the base of the burner stem. Works every time."
