"I thought this tent was kind of heavy to take on a trip. It turned out to be really roomy and comfortable and easily packable without the bag it comes in. Without the rainfly it would be perfect."

"While on a trip to Glacier National Park, a severe storm blew up. We had just arrived at our compsite, set up our tents, and went up to Logan Pass. We could not get to our camp during the storm due to landslides and downed trees, but my Apex was the only one in our group (and one of the few in the camp) to survive the storm. Ripped rainflies, flattened domes, and broken poles were all around us. I had at most a couple of tablespoons of water in my Apex, mostly due to the fact that in my haste to set up, I neglected to clip the sides to the poles. (there are partial pole sleeves also). I love the Apex. though I prefer a tent with a proper vestibule, but it's great for summer backpacking!"

"We were sleeping at 12000 feet in Colorado our first night out there when a huge windstorm blew over. My friend's North Face tent snapped like a toothpick that very night while my Eureka Apex stood on top of that mountain for 1 1/2 weeks before we finally went home."

"I have had my Apex for over two years and have not had any problems. It is the most durable, water proof, wind proof tent I have ever owned. My only complaint is that it tops the scale at about 6 pounds, which makes it unreasonalble to take backpacking."

"I've had mine since 2000, and have always used Eureka, with the exception of a Kelty Dart bivy. I do a lot of Appalacian hiking which is often wet from rain and river crossings. This tent is great, easy setup and no condensation. I love the two doors and the way the side vestibules provide room for my pack, boots and lantern. Kind of heavy, but I always go with hubby and he carries."
