Pinnell Mtn. Trail
Beautiful panoramic views... the trail is all above tree level, and takes you to the summit of many small peaks, you can see for miles. A LOT of switchbacks, up and down, it was tough on my lungs, and I was in pretty good shape. Pack light (no canned food, of course)... Don't bother carrying in water through June, but definitely bring a filtration system. There are two cabins with a water catching system. took us three days... make sure to soak in the hot springs about thirty miles up the road after you get off the trail... you'll need it. Bring a blister kit- I also wish I'd wrapped my ankles. It was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life, nonetheless. We didn't experience bad bugs, but it was late June... any earlier, and we would've been sucked dry. Any later, and the water may have been dried out. Leave a treat for the next hikers at the cabins! This trail is not very heavily used... we saw only three hikers near the far end of the trail.
