Description
Nice little overnighter by base camping by small but pretty Shores Lake and following the west side of the loop up White Rock Creek valley to the top of White Rock mountain. Several cute waterfalls & nice views through the valley. Nice campground & spectacular view from rim loop trail at the top then back down to the car on the east side in the morning. This trail is also an excellent jumping on or off place for the Ozark Highlands Trail & runs concurrent with it for a mile or two. A word of caution-the rim loop at the top is very ,very dangerously sheer & deadly high. Keep the kids & pets tethered & the beer back at the truck for after the hike.

Directions to Hike
I-40 Mulberry exit (about 20 miles east of Fort Smith) State 215 north to Shores Lake
