Description
This is a beautiful section of the OHT that passes through the Hurricane Creek Wilderness. The trail is well maintained and easy to follow. Elevation drops roughly 1000 feet while hiking this trail from east to west. There are several creeks with great campsites along this trail. The trail passes through hardwood forests and crosses Hurricane Creek twice along its length. The views along Hurricane Creek are great and there is a great campsite near the Chancor spur trail that is just above the Hurricane at a stretch where it flows broad and flat. Water is abundant.

Directions to Hike
Highway 7 north from I-40 approximately 25 miles to Forest Service Trailhead.
