"This was my mom's first shelter on her first (and only!) backpacking in March 1976. We spent a lovely evening lookout out over the lights of the valley below and awoke to a crystal cold morning.

"Composting toilet is nice, and the roof is solid and will keep you dry...you just have to watch for all the wind coming in off the ridge, especially on early season hikes. "

"Beautiful location, water you don't have to treat, well kept shelter... I'm just sorry I just stopped for lunch and didn't spend the night."

"This is a great shelter. I have spent many nights there, being from North East Pennsylvania. This is a well taken care of shelter with a great view and a spiritual retreat center next door. Just keep an eye open for the mice, they are hungry little guys and will snatch your bagel and run off in the blink of an eye"
