Description
Elevation drop of 1500 ft. to cliff dwellings. Quite rugged in the canyon thru what once was a ragging river. Trail is marked fairly well. Many places to camp.Large sycamor trees and plenty of coverage. About 2 hours going and at least 3 returning. Usually the return trip is in the early afternoon so recommend at least 4 quarts of water, during this hottest part of the day. I imagine the spring is very beautiful and the fall season the same.

Directions to Hike
Take 360 East to florence junction-Turn North at whitlow dam ( 3 miles pass junction). Continue north to FR 172. Turn NEN and continue another 2 miles to Roger Canyon turn off. Continue 9 miles to 172A. Turn NE . About 3 miles (4WD) to camp.
