Description
This is one of America's outstanding hikes on a trail that is an engineering marvel. It starts in the ancient giant Sequoia trees at Crescent Meadows, which was described by John Muir as the fairest in the Sierras. It ends on top of 14,595' Mt. Whitney, the highest mountain in the continental United States. From start to finish it is a spectacular hike through the heart of the world famous Sierra Mevada mountains. Included along the way is a tent camp, beautiful lakes, alpine meadows broad vistas, and deep canyons. There is even a tunnel and a hot springs for your tired muscles. What more could you ask for?

Directions to Hike
From highway 99 take hyw 198 from Visalia or hwy 180 from Fresno to Giant Forest in Sequoia NP. There are no roads to Giant Forest from the east.
