Description
You start from Cordova Pass (11,005 ft). There is a good walk slightly inclining over a nice trail. After 1 1/2 hours or so, you'll start up the mountain itself. The trail then zig-zags up the mountain until you reach the timberline. Good luck from here. A forty-five degree slope on large loose rocks takes you a few thousand feet up to the peak (West Spanish Peak 13,626). Great view. Try to get there early.

Directions to Hike
Highway 12 to Apishapa Pass. Take dirt road 9 miles up to Cordova Pass.
