Description
While I was able to check out some other areas of the Pine Mountain Trail system, this is where I spent most of my time. Starting near a statue of FDR on Dowdell Knob where he spent time admiring the terrain from the top of the mountain, I was immediately impressed with overlook. I hopped on the trail loop and made a right heading away from the parking area as quickly as possible. The first section of the trial was pretty easy with little elevation change. After crossing 1 road, the scenery changed a bit. There was a very nice creek with small falls followed up by around 100 ft incline along a slightly rocky ledge. Over all, a very nice, easy hike.

Directions to Hike
After you stop at the info center at FDR state park to pick up your Pine Mt. Trail map, it is very easy to find. There is a one mile road off of highway 190 that leads directly to the statue of FDR and the trailhead.
