Description
The Waca Lake trail provides a loop from the main lake office, round the lake. Most of the first 5 miles is on the lake road, mostly dirt. The last two miles runs through a very rough section of woods along the northwest edge of the lake. One very hazardous creek crossing but other than that the only bad parts are the lack of a maintained trail. Markers are several years old but a sharp eye should still be able to find most of them. Unless someone begins maintenance soon, this trail will be impassable after another season or two.
Spotted two large does, a blue heron (large), and a small rattlesnake.

Directions to Hike
Take Illinois 127 four miles south of Nashville, IL. Turn left at the Washington County Conservation area. Main trailhead is easily spotted via a signboard with a map of the trail near the concession stand.
