Description
Starts at Ft. Davidson, site of a Civil War battle and crosses Taum Sauk Mountain, the highest point in Misouri at elev. 1750. Before ending at Johnson Shut-ins on the Black River, this trail passes through some of the most rugged land in the state. Best hiked in 2 days. Camping is available at the top of Taum Sauk Mountain.

Directions to Hike
From St. Louis: I-55 South to 67. Right on W near Farmington. Left on V to Pilot Knob.
