Description
The Glass Mountains in N.W. Oklahoma are one of the many geological wonders this state has to offer. The mountains got their name because of the millions of sparkling selenite crystals that cover surface of the mountains. There are no trails though so you hike wherever you go. It does require climbing to get to the tops of the mountains and the footing can be loose.Once your on top its as far as you can see in every direction. The terain looks more like your in Arizona or New Mexico rather than Oklahoma.Thats one of the neat things about the Glass Mountians.Beware though the area is full of rattlesnakes there are warning signs so watch your step.

Directions to Hike
The Glass Mountains are located on highway 412 just west of Orienta. A rest stop/picnic area and information booth are located off the highway. You can park there while you hike. After you hike keep driving west on 412 the mountains continue for about 18 miles its a short scenic drive.
