Description
I took this backpacking trips over and it has been the best I have ever taken. The Wild and Scenic area of the Rogue is inaccessible by cars, except for one spot where a historic ranch sits along the trail. You hike down the Rogue River Canyon along the river, bears and dear are abundant. There are plenty of springs and streams but all must be treated, no pit toilets (very low-impact) There are several lodges along the route that cater only to river rafters, which you will see frequently during the summer. This is an excellent 4-5 day trip to take.

Directions to Hike
Take the Merlin exit which is about 10 miles north of Grants Pass on I-5. Continue on the road to Merlin, past Indian Mary State Park until you get to the Graves Creek boat launch. This is where the trail begins. You will have to have someone pick you up in Agness, OR near the Illahe lodge.
