very nice day hike of medium difficulty. pass through variety of mnt habitat with climb of appx 3000 ft over the 5+ miles culminating at second highest peak in tenn. especially enjoyable in winter with spectacular scenery. i grew up in east tenn hiking these mnts. this is one of my favorites.

Directions to Hike
in smokey mnt national park take us 321 past sugarlands visitor center east toward nc side of park. appx 7 miles to very well marked trailhead.
