Description
The ascent into the bowl or up to the peak are the hardest trails because they are steep and rugged. The trails are very easily identified and well maintained. The ground is very rocky and the terrain varies from arid desert to pine forests in the mountains. The views from the top are spectacular. The area is very dry and there is no water in the backcountry. Summer temperatures are very hot. Permits can be obtained at the rangers' station.
