Description
The trail is located in Camel's Hump State Park, and is probably the most direct route to the summit of Camel's Hump. Starting from the parking area at the end of the Camel's Hump Road, the trail enters the woods into a hardwood forest area designated by the State of Vermont for acid depostition research and other forest health issues. The trail continues through this forest, crosses a brook and ascends to the ridgeline where it joins the Long Trail at the Camel's Hump Hut clearing(2.1 miles). This is an open area but no camping is allowed. Follow the Long trail .3 miles south to reach the summit of Camel's hump.(2.4 miles)The summit of Camel's Hump has fantastic views of the green mountains, the adirondacks and the White mountains in New Hampshire. The summit also supports one of three communities of alpine vegetation in the Green Mountains. So please stay on the trail to avoid damage to this unusual ecosystem.

Directions to Hike
From Huntington center follow the Huntington road to the camel's hump road. (6.1 miles north of Vt. 17 and 2.5 miles south of the post office in Huntington). Continue 3.5 miles east on the Camel's Hump road to its terminus at the Burrow's trail head.
