North Lake
The trail to North lake has several options. I just hiked it (for the third time) and the most obvious trail led through the steep switchbacks. Then about a mile into the hike there was a descent before going back up. My previous two visits had no descent whatsoever. And at trails end it was vastly different. I couldn\'t see Mt. Baker or Ranier. I did see Glacier Peak, I think. My memories of this hike were awesome because of the view of not only North Lake, but of the miles of mountains and mountaintops. I think it's very important that you stay on the ridge as long as possible to get the best view. I recommend a GPS and a good map if you can.
