The last bill I registered went from the Platinum Plus to the Lingerie store before I lost track of it.

"slacked off some as gas gettin expensive...”

I hear ya on that. I try to hit caches if I'm going to be out already or I try to hit multipul caches so I'm not burning too much gas.

I’m getting wound up to do more caching and I plan on setting more caches this year. One thing that kind of gets me is the over use of logs and stumps as hiding places. The one cach I do have I hide under some brush and when I went back to maintain it someone had even moved it to a hollow stump about 10’ away. WTF? As I only have about 10 finds to my name I was wondering what are some of the cooler caches people have found that are out of the ordinary?

I found one suspended about 15' high in a tree. A rope led over to another tree about 20' away and was tied off about head high. I searched all over the ground and was about to give up when I finally saw it.

I don't think this qualifies as "out of the ordinary", but my daughter and I spent almost an hour looking for one last weekend and it turns out she was practically standing on it. The area was rocky and the cache was under a natural looking rock. The person who put it there had dug a hole under the rock, put the cache in the hole, and put the rock back in place. The rock looked so natural that it was very difficult to find.

My last cach was about 3' off the ground in the crotch of a tree. It made me really stop and think about how much time we spend looking down. I'm planning on doing a cach that is either suspended or up off the ground for sure.

I spent an hour looking for a cache once and it was in a block of wood under a small wooden bridge.
On another note, if anyone is coming to the TC4, there are now 2 caches in Cumberland gap, one belongs to me. I wanted to get a few more out but did not have enough time.

I took this 3" plastic dog from a cache. I can't imagine where the person got it from, maybe a kids toys. Then I get my taxes done, and the accountant had the same plastic dog sitting on his computer, which I thought was weird. I never did ask him about that, like where he got it from. He had no children.

My daughter (the 7 yr old) took a little girls ring from a cache last weekend...she was so psyched about it!

My daugher (10) gets excited every time we find one. I keep a bag of trade items in the trunk so we can restock caches where they are running thin.

I am amazed at how amazed at how people take to geocaching. I have my wife hooked after taking her out with me some. I even gave her her own GC handle, Dirtbag Darcy (Dirtbag Darrel’s hot girlfriend!). LOL! She’s been telling all the ladies at work about it and now they want to get into it.

Try this Cache as a starting spot. Union of Two or GCKR82. That one is actually mine and an easy one. Or by the zip code 37752. I wanted to put some more out before this weekend but ran out of time. When are you getting in?

Easy MPS
Has anyone tried this software? I was wondering if I needed it to go with EasyGPS, that I now have and use to track and log my waypoints and routes. Chili, didn't you mention that you use EasyGPS???

It is only a matter of time, before Jeremy and geocaching.com get slapped with a liability lawsuit if they haven't already.

The local police found a cache in a city park and the bomb squad blew up the cache.

Hopefully, I can bag number 300 by Memorial Day.

they recommend teams anyway.....only part that gets me is one of the towers... one
of the water towers is about 300' high, has no cage around the ladder and you are climbing with your back pointing towards the ground along part of the climb. Hell I still WANT TO do it bad!!!

I think a good fall color geocaching weekend should center on this one and then do a search on everything around it.

I went up there today to find a cache.

Spent the day out geocaching all day with a youth group from my brother’s church. It was fun. We split up into two teams and competed for most caches completed by a certain time. The best part was the teens had to dress up as pirates! We got some strange looks and one truck went by and the guy was yelling, “ARRRRR!” out the window at us. LOL! We won the day with 12 caches plus bonus points for difficulty.
