Mostly you’ll find nick nacks and bobbles but some have some pretty imaginative stuff in it like a disposable camera for you to take your picture and leave it there. I once got a $10 gas card from one. It’s more about just getting out and doing stuff. My wife loves geocaching. I do find the standards for hikers is different for geocachers as far as what’s hard terrain. Most geocachers like the park and grab caches that require hardly any walking to get to but some are back in the woods and take a hike to get to.

Go here for a take on some caches of different types... and an event I just attended. Yeah, most people were whining at the end of the day of this event... and it was likely less than 5 miles. ;-)

I had a great time a few weeks ago taking my brother’s youth group geocaching because they had to dress like pirates and compete to see who could get more caches in a day. Then we all got together and ate pizza. They did mostly the parks and in town caches but still fun.

We found another one this past weekend using a GPS - the kids love it! they loaded it with stuff they had carried to trade.

Looked for another one without the GPS and got skunked. :(

The kids want to put one of their own out.

I've got a Legend although, to be honest, I've seen people on Legends smoked with plain ole Etrexes, which run around $90, maybe.

The Legend can tie in with mapping software which, if you love maps like I do, can be cool.

HEY STOVEY!! TWIG NEEDS A GPS!!!

wink, wink.... heehehe
