I've already got my Northeast AT hike itinerary in mind. Starting at Grafton Notch in Maine and heading south.

“He's gonna tell her about how I got Ground Suck at the base of Mnt Garfield. It lasted about 10 mins. From there, it was a 600 ft gain & 1/2 mile to camp.

Glad your cold never got worse Ped.”

“I had a nice dark beer when I got off the Trail on Thursday night, and I thought of all you guys on the first sip (since it was impossible for us to meet up). Great trip report fella's - the Whites sound like a nice challange!”

“Definitely challenging. winter snowshoeing is a must this year.”

Overlapped some of your trip with my wife this weekend.

Went up the Garfield trail to the summit of Garfield. Then down the Garfield ridge trail to Galehead hut. Spent the night at the hut. Ran up Galehead without pack in the morning. Then climbed up South Twin. From there we diverged from the overlapping. We headed over the North Twin spur to North Twin and back down from there.

Sunny days. Good views. But very hazy. HOT. It was 87 at he Galehead hut Saturday afternoon. It made for some tough hiking in temps like that.”

South Twin would have been a very nice view but when we were up there, it was socked in with rain clouds. Garfield was foggy to. Our first real good view on the Franconia side was fron Lincoln. AWESOME!!!!!!!”

“Hi to walking dude and sirpete...it took me a while to logon and say hello, but I have been swamped since I got back from the Whites. My wife and I met you both on the shuttle after your trip. Sounds like you guys had a blast. We did too. You gotta love the whites. Rugged but beautiful. I did some hiking in an old cursed, abandoned town since then. My wife sprained her ankel on that trip...the curse rings true. Either that or she really needs to wear better boots. Hope all is well with you guys. Be well!”

Only on crutches for 1 week, air cast for 2 additional weeks! I miss the trails already (sniffle sniffle). My hubby (RavenSeer) will be doing some hiking on Friday by himself. I think I am out for the rest of the season until next year. We are hoping to backpack in Ireland in 2002. Oh well, just have to wait. We are also now planning a white water rafting trip for the spring. If anyone is interested let me know!”
