Oct 2001 Backpacker Magazine
The Oct 2001 Backpacker Magazine looks like a pretty good issue. It has lots of trail information. I noticed that many of the trails mentioned have been used for TT trips.

I concur...lots of trail info in this issue.

They noted Zaleski in OH and the Black Forest Trail in PA, which are two TTrip the next-to-the-last and last weekends of September, respectively.

Also, Mt. Rogers and Linville Gorge, various sections of the AT, not to mention Yosemite, King's Canyon, and Sequoia.

A former Rodale senior editor is the new journalism prof. at my alma mater. I'm hoping one of my friends in the English Dept. will introduce me sometime so I can get some inside dope on the place.

I filled out a very detailed customer survey for Backpacker Mag some month back. The last two issues have been pretty good. Maybe they are trying to be more responsive.

Are you guys kidding me? I just got my Sept. issue last week. Maybe it's because I'm in Canada.

I'll get it last. They send it to my CA address, and I get it shipped to me from there.

RE: Oct 2001 Backpacker Magazine
Pekka, Rodale is just the publishing house all the titles are separate entities. The Senior Editor dude could have worked on any one of their titles and never even seen an issue of Backpacker.

RE: Oct 2001 Backpacker Magazine
I'm going to subscribe. I've missed some of what were supposed to be pretty good issues. Everytime I get a copy, I devour it front to back.

I also really like National Geographic's Adventure Magazine.
