Moleskin 101 “I just scored a ton of adhesive moleskin this weekend and I ant to put it to good use. Aside from coveing blisters, what else can it be used for?” 10:15:41 AM 9/10/01 RE: Moleskin 101 “all moleskin is good for is covering stitches, if you need to put a pack on. use duct tape for blisters. hell, duct tape is better for stitches, anyways.” 10:18:42 AM 9/10/01 RE: Moleskin 101 “Duct tape is better THAN stitches. What does a ton of moleskin look like? LOLOL” 10:58:30 AM 9/10/01 RE: Moleskin 101 “ummmm maybe you could cut little circles of it to put on the inside of your kitchen cupboards so they don't slam when you shut them?” 11:17:02 AM 9/10/01 RE: Moleskin 101 “Pasties!” 1:07:51 PM 9/10/01 RE: Moleskin 101 “LOL @ bacpac” 1:14:32 PM 9/10/01 RE: Moleskin 101 “Fuzzy 'Post It' Notes” 1:44:56 PM 9/10/01 RE: Moleskin 101 “Perhaps you could return it to the cold and naked moles??? Exactly how many moles were scalped so that you could get online and brag about your surfeit of moleskin. Maybe there is a mole-internet somewhere with a bunch of moles on it, one of whom is bragging, "I just scored a ton of sticky humanskin this weekend . . ." WHAT ABOUT THE MOLES??!!! WHO IS LEFT TO SPEAK FOR THEM!!!! the inhumanity . . .the inhumanity.” 1:49:49 PM 9/10/01 RE: Moleskin 101 “Hmmm, wrong door again!” 7:57:27 PM 9/10/01 RE: Moleskin 101 “Anti blister innersoles.” 8:44:16 PM 9/10/01 RE: Moleskin 101 “carpeting that doesn't cause blisters?” 9:10:44 PM 9/10/01 RE: Moleskin 101 “Panties” 1:24:17 AM 9/11/01 RE: Moleskin 101 “Bras that don't rub & cause chafe marks! ;-> Seriously though... moleskin isn't the best thing for blisters. Get yourself some 'Compede' dressings(made by Band-Aid) and a roll of sticky stretchy Elastoplast(it's @ 3"x50') - the pharmacist should know what you mean... Cover your blisters with a Compede, then cover the Compede with enough Elastplast to wrap over whateve part of your foot has the blister eg. wrap the entire heel, not just a small section. It'll stay on way better than Moleskin & actually conforms to your foot. FYI, it's also better to leave an un-popped blister intact(unless it's causing a lot of pain) and cover it with a well padded dressing than it is to pop it... keeps the nasty bugs out... if it is open, make sure you clean it with an antibacterial cleaner(not Polysporin) before covering. And never, EVER use 2nd Skin while you're still on the trail! 2nd Skin actually weakens the healthy surrounding tissue making it more prone to breakdown and keeps that nasty blister warm & moist... the last thing you want to do. Disclaimer: The above is NOT meant to be taken as medical "advice"... it's just my opinion of what works well, having seen many, many(600 pair in 4 days) badly blistered feet on military personnel who volunteer to march 160kms over cobblestone roads every year.” 5:06:37 AM 9/12/01 RE: Moleskin 101 “slap 2 pieces together and you got a mini moleskin blanket -Ahhhh” 5:19:03 AM 9/12/01 RE: Moleskin 101 “Share with me!” 8:11:03 AM 9/12/01 RE: Moleskin 101 “Good for stopping squeaks on E-frames.” 5:57:18 PM 9/12/01 RE: Moleskin 101 “Affix to the ends of chair- and table-legs so they won't scratch your hardwood floors? %^)” 6:20:23 PM 9/12/01 RE: Moleskin 101 6:31:59 PM 9/12/01 “Moleskin, I thought it was supposed to help but when I used it last weekend it wouldn't stay where I slapped it on and was no help at all! Please tell me if there is a better alternative?” 6:32:32 PM 7/08/07 “Put moleskin in place, then cover it with duct tape.” 6:40:14 PM 7/08/07 “I will try that but will that work with wet feet? My feet seem to sweat a lot when I am hiking.” 6:42:05 PM 7/08/07 “Always bring a towel. Don't Panic.” 7:56:25 PM 7/08/07 “Ha! Thank you for the fish. :p” 8:01:53 PM 7/08/07
