Every time you buy a Chinese product you drive up the price of oil... just a tiny bit.

cheers!

BB while I agree with some of your statement but a fact remains that taxes raise the price of a gallon of gas. The Feds take @ 18.4 cents per gallon and the avg. state take is @ .20 cpg., and then possible local city taxes. The Buckeye gov takes .26 cpg. They can't get that tax revenue elsewhere?

Brair, I was speaking of the recent rise of gas prices, they aren't due to tax increases, which is the main componant of high gas prices in Europe.

Yes, we can get taxes out of things other than gas. And when i say that, I don't mean all that fine booty you've been taxin' this past year either.

Next to FICA the Booty Tax is outrageous. I say no taxation without bootylation unless of course there is loopole dance I don't know about.

The taxes add up, that is .30 to .40 cpg we could be saving at the pump. That is a lap dance every couple of fill ups?

The price had been raising all year until summer break then it dropped for a bit, was this for vacationers to hit the road, and now the price has skyrocketed in the past few weeks, what gives?

Folks need to try to purchase from those oil co.'s that aren't supplied by Arab oil.

Just a few years ago, I used to buy 86 octane gas at one of the gas stations here in Michigan. It was cheaper and I didn't notice any performance difference.

I know they sell 85 octane gas in Utah and other high elevation areas.

Is there a good reason why gas stations don't sell 86 and 85 octane gas across the country?

I filled up at $2.99/gal yesterday at Mammoth Lakes.

YOWCH!!! I wept as I stood there with the gas nozzle in my tank. I used the windshield wiper paper towels to dab my eyes. I heard others bawling too. One guy walked away from his new pickup truck right there in line after putting a sign up in his window saying, "Free to good home". They need to find a way to run cars on milk, or orange juice, or Pepsi, or Natural Light beer... it would be much cheaper.

actually ... PRICES PER GALLON
milk: $2.79

orange juice: $3.18

Pepsi: $2.25

Natural Light beer: $52.00

gas: $2.45

So only Pepsi is slightly cheeper.
Sarge

$52 for a gallon of natural light, that is slightly over 10 cans...$5.20 per can for beer???????

No birch. It's only $1 a beer. The return is $4.20. But then again s-meone who thinks it's possible to guzzle 2 gallons in 5 minutes might, just might, be prone to exageration.

Here we go again...

I asked you the same about your posts of BB's personal info and implied threats of physical violence (which in the opinion on the webmaster here were serious enough to be deleted) so I will answer when you see fit to do the same.

And I will continue to be your netnanny until you decide to act nice to the other kids and share your toys.

BTW I dont see what was non-Christian about correcting your flawed math. I havent read the book of Ohmymiah in some time where the ancient hebrews covered math laws.

So what you're saying is that you can be "non-Christian" as long as you think that I am?

Hmmm. Where is that in the Bible?

This isn't about me birch, even though you want it to be. This is about your actions. No matter what my actions are, no matter how horrific in your eyes, you will be judged by your actions. Actions which you do not want to defend. I wonder why.

How come you are so eager to glaze over your threats of physical violence and posts of personal info. THough in your eyes your actions must be above reproach being the divinely annointed and all.

There you go again. Tell me how that is Christian.

Would you say that to your pastor, or somebody in your church? Would you say that to my face? I seriously doubt it.

You're not acting like the person you want me to be. Why is that?

Are you acting Christian yourself? Yes or no?
Sarge

birch - Your real problem is that you are unsure of your own Christianity. I've read your posts about your drinking and your distaste for church. You are currently promoting conflict on the board. You applaud people complaining about life (this thread), and you do it yourself. What is your goal here birch?
Sarge

sarge, come up to the kayak trip next month. I will indeed ask you to your face what is Christian about threats of violence. If my pastor threatened someone I would confront him in person (as I did you the first time I emailed you) then I would confront him infront of his peers (like confronting you on TT) that is a biblical approach my friend. Keep twisting but God saw the threats you made before they were deleted.

Whoa! Liar! You did not email me first. Right there is a lie bud. You posted on the board. I am the one who said to you that you could have emailed if you really were concerned about me.

Also, I did not threaten him. Do you know what I said? You must considering your claim. What did I say?

Sarge othe than talking with you tonite I have only posted current fuel prices in my area. That is a statement of fact. Quote me where I have applauded any complaints.

Quote me on my distastes for church. You wont find a single one. Its normal for Christians to struggle with their faith. The bible is full of those folks, remember one of the biggest heros of the faith...David? A murderous adulteror.

Speaking of drinking arent youi the one who boast of chugging 2 gallons? To quote you... Hypocrite.

I will await the response to my prior post with baited breath.
birch

And another thing - Why won't you answer the question? Are you acting Christian yourself? Yes or no? Do you feel that your approach right here and now is being Christian? Yes or no? Why do you keep trying to make this about me when it's you that started in with this:

sarge, it pays to verify what you read. Everything on the internet isnt true.”
birch

Tell me birch - stop avoiding the question.

sarge you said (to bb) you keep this up and you will be sorry, the word sorry was a link to his personal address. A threat deemed serious enough to delete the threat.

Quoting fuel prices on this site is complaining. Are you denying that? Are you going to try to have us believe it's not? Come on. Be serious.

You said you only go to Church for your daughter's sake.

I was not a Christian when I did that. I do not drink as a Christian. How is that a hypocrite? You boast about drinking now as a Christian, hypocrite.

BIRCH!!!!!!!!!!! Damnit! I got home today and that is what gas cost me!

You better tell me tomorrow that gas went down to $1.99 or else I am coming up there and stealing your gas!

As I approached the gas station, I had the price you posted in my head. When I saw it, I said, "Damn that birch!" Ha Ha, I guess you had to be there.

WK, sorry about that. I tried calling ahead to get it lower for ya buy no luck.

I tried last march to get my co-workers to pick the highest price that they thought gas would hit by this labor day, I predicted $3 on a whim, I may be right. I feel for the folks with a long commute.

The lowest price I saw for regular around here is $2.65.

Prices are already starting to have an effect on the economy. Walmart is reporting lower sales and business have found a way to deal with the higher prices, they just add a surcharge and pass on the cost. Restaurants are reporting that suppliers are adding a surcharge to deliveries as well as moving companies, pizza delivery, etc. Some businesses are "eating" the cost for now, but if prices stay high or go higher expect to pay more for just about anything. Natural gas prices and home heating oil is also projected to be going up this winter. CNN reported that natural gas could go up as much as 25%.
