“I am planning a trip to Dolly Sods/Roaring Plains area in the middle of October. I've got a few questions for anyone who has experience with the area at that time. Specifically, what kind of weather should I expect? Cold, I'm sure, but how about snow? Are storms prevalent then? Also, what kind of crowds will be there on a weekend? Thanks for any help you can provide.”

Dolly Sods WILL be crowded on nice weekends.
And it is lovely!

Roaring Plains is about 500 feet higher and isn't usually crowded.
