Red light
I'm playing with the idea of getting filters for my flashight(red, blue, amber, etc). Has anybody used them? Any opinions?

RE: Red light
I had a flashlight that came with some once. The red is good for night hiking, etc. (doesn't destroy night vision). Putting them on is a bit of a pain and they're easy to lose. I don't use them anymore. If I want a red lense I paint some saran wrap with red nail polish. I never used the other colors.

You can buy red saran wrap now.

RE: Red light
Just get some colored Photons. I can testify to the red one having a 4 day burn time (they claim 5...was I ripped off?)

RE: Red light
Tommy - Instead of using "full-brightness" photons, try using two "half-brightness" photons at the same time - you'll get as much light as you would from "full-brightness" photons, but the light will last longer.

RE: Red light
I tried the red saran wrap first--not dark enough.

RE: Red light
I cut a half inch slit in an amber pill bottle and slid it over my moonlight headlamp. It gives off a great soft amber light for reading and in tent use.
