Well, BB doesn't have a fastball and the curves he throws are usually in the dirt.

Hey, don't mess with Rocker. That guy is a hero for taking the heat for the PC Police and sticking with it.

To answer the question, BB may be like Rocker because he speaks his mind, but unlike Rocker he won't be driven off the face of the earth for doing so.

No he isn't.

In my estimation Buddha is angry and upset and struggling for a solution that in his own mind will bring back some order to his world, and a sense of justice and retribution for the horrible attack on our country and way of life. Frankly, the folks here who are calling Buddha a rascist and a nazi ought to be ashamed for such incredible lack of understanding, sensitivity and maturity. The dude is venting in a big way, and we should understand that and let him get it out of his system without resorting to the sophomoric name calling that has only added fuel to his fire, and forced him to rally around his position, even if that position is flawed.

We have all been through an incredibly emotional few days. I for one am hoping all the anger and bitterness that is being directed towards members of this forum will shortly stop. Everyone, please take a deep breath and lets all try to be civil and respectful of others.

John Rocker certainly did not want the attention. He made a few offhand, frank comments that we all think privately, and the PC Freaks tried to destroy him.

Yeah BobK, thanks.

I like BB. It's obvious he's out of sorts this week as we all are to some extent or another.

I really have a problem not refuting calls for suspending the civil liberties of my neighbors and friends though. Such stuff is dangerous and un-American.

Oh, and stevehiker, it?s obvious that the quote ?I?m not a very big fan of foreigners. You can walk an entire block in Times Square and not hear anybody speaking English. Asians and Koreans and Vietnamese and Indians and Russians and Spanish people and everything up there. How the hell did they get into this country?? was taken out of context.

To erode civil liberties for the sake of security is to accept defeat. America is a success because of our freedom.

Johnny grew up a couple counties away from me - Jones Co., GA. My favorite dayhike location is there - Hitchitti Experimental Forest, which is within the Piedmont Natl. Wildlife Refuge, which is within the Oconee Natl. Forest.

The Hitchitti has an excellent loop trail that skirts along the Ocmulgee River at Falling Creek. The best shoal bass fishing in the universe can be done there.

Now where were we?
Oh yeah - Johnny Boy.
He da man!
I don't think that Rocker is guilty of anything more than being a Southern white male. He said nothing that hadn't already been said by the likes of Letterman and Leno in their monologues...

I don't see anything particularly wrong with Rocker's comments, Violin. He was speaking his thoughts. What's wrong with the freedom to speak?

Show me where I advocated taking people's civil liberties away.

"In order for this to never happen again, we need to do the following:
3. Stop supporting businesses owned by people of middle eastern background in this country (many of these people support the terrorist efforts with money.)
4. Institute "special" search procedures for people of middle eastern decent."

"Or the same measures implemented in WWII by the US to protect from internal threat, and to protect Japanese Americans."

"We must use extreme caution, and institute special rules for Arab Americans."

#3 is just morally wrong but the rest are protected civil liberties.

Huh?
Were you blacked-out drunk?
You did say things about taking away the civil liberties of my friends and neighbors.

I think you advocated the deportation of students and others from Arab countries......for one!!!

You were bound to get roasted for that, dude.
And you can't blame that on this intangible PC nonsense.

Some of the things you said were UN-AMERICAN!!!

So what if BB is maybe a little over zealous at this time. For crying out loud, certain middle eastern people have just taken thousands of lives, changed thousands of lives, our economy, our way of living, our thoughts about our saftey, and changed the skyline of New York. Give him a break!

RE: Survey: Is Buddha Bear the John Rocker of TT
Wow, Buddha, I am sorry that you are so upset about what has happened to our nation that you would post stuff like that. You are obviously way more hurt by this than most of the people I know. I think that only a person in extreme emotional stress would consider those actions to be an effective way of handling this crisis. I, for one, hope that only the people responsible will have to punished. I realize that may very well not happen, but I don't think that we need to take a "1940's Japanese interment camp" style approach to Arab-Americans.

No, maybe we don't, but it could be an option. i didn't advocate that in my so called manifesto.

I'm not a drunk Mr. Terrific, but I would expect that you'd resort to name calling, it shows your maturity level. I also have yet to see any solutions on your part.

As for now, I don't have time to defend every thing I say, and must get back to work here.

I see BB is still whining about the name calling. He can dish it out but he is a little cry baby when he gets what is coming to him back. What a hypocrite.

And, you know, it would be so easy to call BB names that he has earned for himself.
Why is it that people who think bigoted thoughts attribute those thoughts to all of us. News flash...not all people have bigoted thoughts running through their heads.

And....interestingly enough in this case, I have found "middle eastern" people to be among the most gracious and accepting people,
