So...the way I (and the dictionary) see it, people from Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Egypt, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, (do I need to go on?), might be of another ethnicity, but, (even if you insist on racial differences), they share the same racial origins as many Americans.

Not to mention the fact, (as so many have before this), we are all lucky to share citizenship in this great country with people of widely varied backgrounds, cultures, ethnicities, and even races. This melting pot is one of the aspects of our country that makes it a wonderful place to live.

Police arrest eight at white power rally in Berwyn

By ANDREW HERRMANN Staff Reporter Chicago Sun Times

Eight people were arrested Saturday at a "white power" rally that drew about 200 people to a park in west suburban Berwyn.

Most came to heckle the handful of rally organizers dressed in Ku Klux Klan garb and Nazi-inspired uniforms.

Two women were charged with battery for beating a man. The women were anti-Klan and the man was allied with the racist group, said Frank Marzullo, Berwyn's director of public safety. Six men were charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct, Marzullo said.

About 300 police officers in riot gear provided a human barrier between demonstrators and rally organizers and policed the surrounding neighborhood. Marzullo said it cost thousands of dollars to police the rally, which required additional officers from surrounding suburbs plus Cook County sheriff's police and state troopers.

Rally organizer Michael McQueeney, a former Berwyn resident who now lives in Mercer, Wis., and claims to be a grand dragon of the Ku Klux Klan, filled most of the 35-minute rally ranting over a public address system about black people, Hispanics and Jews. Berwyn police had McQueeney speak from inside a fenced roller hockey rink.

Pro- and anti-Klan demonstrators were separated in fenced areas, with about a dozen people in the pro-Klan pen and close to 200 in the anti-Klan group.

A prayer service at a Berwyn Presbyterian church held at the same time drew several hundred.”
