Stress relief
We're all under a great deal of stress. Brings to mind a site which has always given me a sense of peace. Scroll down to the pictures. Should load in a few seconds.

The images also represent the greatness of America and what it has to offer each of us and the world as a whole.

The United States is more than a nation; it represents unbounded potential for all who have the will to grasp for it.

RE: Stress relief
Admittedly I posted this link after a few deep drags of very fine California zinfindel. But as anyone who has ever been to the California coast will recognize, the pics on this link are representative of the greatness of this land we live in.

California has been described as "America and more." How true. And the California coast is the epitome of this greatness.

I suspect that bin Laden's bitterness stems in part from a resentment that he was not born in such a blessed land as ours. By viewing these pics we can affirm a sense of appreciation for our good fortune and perhaps gain a window of insight into our antagonist's psyche.

I write to relieve my stress
in no time I forget the mess
maybe this won`t work for you
but, if nothing else, it`s something to do
so I write, when I want to have a fit
and before I can think, I`m over it
stolen thoughts, or moments as if some thief
I write the hurt away, to gain some relief

I get that crick in my neck from too much beer. Having the head tilted back so much ya look like a Pez dispenser tends to do that. I'm surprised Tree isn't the one with the pain from tilting all your Corona back.

Am I helping now Tree?

Maple, in all seriousness, I feel your pain. I woke up on my birthday in July with the worst pain I've ever felt in my neck. I couldn't turn my head to the side, or lean it back to wash my hair in the shower. It was awful. I visited my chiropractor and got a massage. I had some tremendous knots in the muscles in my shoulders. I was in tears a few times it hurt so much. Pain lessened immediatly after my massage, and went away completely in a few days.

About two months ago, same thing happened. This time it was on the other side of my neck, and started at work right after lunch. Did the same thing, chiro and massage, and it helped again. I'm becomming a big fan of massage.

I had what I thought was a really bad pinched nerve in my neck about a year ago. I went to the doctor, and it turns out it was a sprained neck. I suggest you go to the doctor. If he/she prescribes you the same medication as I got, trust me, you won't be feeling stress at all.

Okay, how about this:

Apply wet heat to your neck and take a Midol. I've got a couple of things I use to apply wet heat, one is a cherry pit pack, basically just a cotton sack full of cherry pits. You stick it in the microwave for a couple of minutes, and put it on the affected neck muscle. When it cools off, do it again, repeat until muscle is relaxed. Another is a similar bag filled with dry corn instead of cherry pits. They both get moist when heated up.

Some people alternate with an icepack. Personally, I don't like that, as cold on my neck makes me tense it up again.

The Midol should have a muscle relaxer in it, but it will be a pretty mild one. You can substitute alcohol, which is a pretty good muscle relaxer.
