Keweenaw land acquisition

“Update for Michigan residents: The MI Natural Resources Trust Fund voted to purchase the 6000+ tract of shoreline in the Keweenaw. They also voted to purchase 400 acres on Grand Traverse Bay and about 2000 acres in the Pigeon River SF.

This has been a good week for the outdoors in Michigan. Hopefully even more of the Keweenaw will be preserved in the future.”

“Yeah, bummer, Joy. Interesting, but they are really part of the same story. The royalties earned from the drilling goes to the land trust. So, there are some benefits to drilling. But I wouldn't have allowed it.”

I went to Northport, north of Traverse City a few months ago, and there were realtor for-sale signs on just about every undeveloped plots of land. I was truely amazed.”
