If you buy your dog food at Wal Mart

WK, I'm curious, why did you narrow your title line to one company?
The pet food was sold by stores operated by the Kroger Co., Safeway Inc., Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and PetSmart Inc., among others, Henderson said.
HEARTLESS
A Quebec family left their chained dog outside to freeze to death....while they were vacationing in Cuba.

Neighbours said a family friend was supposed to show up to feed and give water to the dog...apparently he/she never showed up....not that the dog would get out of the cold.

The family have been questioned by police since they came back (obviously relaxed and tanned (snicker))....maybe they will be convicted of something.....

They broke up a big dog fighting operation here in Dayton. They took 64 dogs that will probably be destroyed. They were showing video of the fights and it makes me wanna puke that there are such hard hearted people in this world.

Unhealthy enemas put tourists in hospital

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russians visiting a health resort received a rude shock when a nurse used hydrogen peroxide instead of water to give them enemas.

Itar-Tass news agency reported Thursday that 17 tourists in the Caucasus spa town of Yessentuki had to be treated in hospital after the mix-up.

Sources at the sanatorium said the mistake was explained by water and hydrogen peroxide looking the same. Hydrogen peroxide, which can be used to bleach hair, is used as a disinfectant but should not be ingested.

Okay, we rescued a HUGE Chessie in November and THOUGHT we had found a home for him. Apparently the Husband wanted the dog the wife set the dog up for failure (like handing food to a 16 month old right in front of a huge Juvenile (around a year old) chessie?

Anyhoo the little yuppies lost the dog, we got him back. Now here is the problem.

My daughter comes home, HE is next to her, she goes in the back yard...HE is next to her. When she is studying...HE is laying on her feet. She goes out the front door to school...he sits by the window for 30 minutes IN CASE she comes back....I am guessing he is staying here...(LOL)

No Mutt, he jumped over the kid for the food. There was not actually a "bite" but there was the imprint of a tooth (not even broken skin) on the kid. It was just a stupid BLITHERING twit....(oh she is studying to be a Nurse in N.C. (sucks to be you in NC)

Nah since we have had him he has not displayed ONE aggression mode, yeah he is playful and YES he is a juvenile but this WOMAN just simply did not want a BIG dog.

You should of known better to let a big dog go to a family with small children. Let this be a lesson to you, next time the dog may not be so lucky. Taking dogs in like that and then placing them, does take some planning. Don't just get rid of them. And if you are not set up to keep them in the first place, either work from a shelter or just avoid the whole process all together.

hijacking this thread...

my son was bitten by a dog the other day. he was riding his bike down the sidewalk near our house. the dogs owner opened her van door and the dog charged out, ran down the sidewalk, bit his leg and knocking him off his bike. the dog had to be pulled off of him (by it's owner).

the owner was very apologetic and offered to pay for my sons ripped jeans (never mind the bleeding wound). she told my wife... get this... that the dog hated kids on bikes and that it had bitten before. she showed my wife the rabies tag on the dog, her name, etc.

when my wife called i asked what the cops had to say and she said she had not called them. she also had not taken my son to the doctor (yet). ok, so i flipped out a little bit... not at her... but at the fact that i felt this was a matter for the police. so while i was on the road for business i asked my wife to page our family doctor and then go down to the police department to file a report. she did both. the doctor had her come in the next day.

the police obviously took the report and told my wife that they have had quite a few complaints about this woman and her dogs... she had some 40 dogs in her care at her townhome at one point. they said that she would get at least two (2) $500 tickets and that they were going to turn the matter over to their detectives for investigation since this was more than an isolated incident at this point. also, she is going to have to pay for the dog to be put into isolation/observation for 10 days to rule out rabies. i told my wife (and the police) that i had zero confidence that the rabies tag the women showed us actually matched the dog that she took it off of... she could have easily used a tag or collar from another dog.

i have no idea why i am posting this other than i am infuriated at this person. she clearly had been through this before... her apologetic tone and the fact that she knew all the "right things to say" to get my wife to not call the cops proves in my mind she is a smooth operator that has had to deal with this before. i feel like my wife and i did the right thing.

i can't help but feel sorry for the dog, but the nature of the attack tells me that the poor creature has some serious issues and doesn't belong in the care of a person like this. i won't go so far as to say the dog should be put down or anything. i don't blame the dog for being what it is. that said, you don't give a kid a loaded handgun and some people simply should not own dogs... or specifically dogs with problems like this.

she WILL be getting the doctors bill (it won't be much if the dog passes it's test) for my sons treatment and if she doesn't pay it i WILL take her to court with the police report and report of the detectives in hand. I'll want a LOT more than the doctors bill at this point and I am willing to pay a lawyer to get what I want. frankly, if she is anything but helpful i won't want money... but if that's what hurts than that's what i'll go for in court.

That was so poorly written it made my head hurt reading it.

You effed up by not teaching your kid what to do when a dog charges. You should have given him pepper spray for just that kind of thing. You failed to take personal responsibility, and your child got hurt because of it.

I'll want a LOT more than the doctors bill at this point and I am willing to pay a lawyer to get what I want.

This is what's wrong with America - fails to take responsibility and wants someone else to pay for it.

Sorry yogi! Your poor son :( Dog bites hurt. what a scary expirience! Your kid doesnt deserve that. I believe strongely that people should be held accountable for thier animals. Keeping an animal that could pose a threat (and it sounds like she knew this animal had issues) IS IRRISPONSIBLE. If I had a dog that even thought about biting other people then they would be put down. sorry if this bothers people but it's true.

Sue the pants off that woman and maybe she will think twice about having an animal that dangerous again.
