Virginia, Sept. 27th. “Anyone interested in a 2 nighter in the Saint Mary's Wilderness. I am planning on getting there late Thursday evening (8:30-9:00) and heading home on Saturday or Sunday depending on others that may be interested. There are a number of possible loops or point to point of about any milages you'd want. I'm open to whatever (high miles or low)if anyone is interested.” 8:39:49 PM 9/19/01 RE: Virginia, Sept. 27th. “I have a map I can email to anyone interested.” 8:51:51 PM 9/19/01 RE: Virginia, Sept. 27th. “baume66, are there any "jumping on" points where someone could show up late Friday or Sat. morning?” 9:06:42 PM 9/19/01 RE: Virginia, Sept. 27th. “Wish I could bro.” 9:30:01 PM 9/19/01 RE: Virginia, Sept. 27th. “bpbaby, there are several points where a body could jump on. The route could be planned accordingly. The wilderness is 20-25 miles south of Shenendoah N.P. in the George Washington National Forest. The Blue Ridge Parkway borders it.” 7:21:32 AM 9/20/01 RE: Virginia, Sept. 27th. 7:49:04 AM 9/20/01 RE: Virginia, Sept. 27th. “Sounds OK to me if you don't mind a slow hiker tag-along - email me at hog_on_ice on hotmail and lets see what we can arrange. I also will be trying out some new gear - if it really doesn't work out I might have to bag it early but so far it looks OK. I can probably get Friday off as well as 1/2 day Thursday so I could easily be there before you - I will need to see what the boss says but usually not a problem. HOI” 10:00:12 PM 9/22/01 RE: Virginia, Sept. 27th. “hey HOI, I sent you an email.” 2:49:59 PM 9/23/01 RE: Virginia, Sept. 27th. “How far from Baltimore is the Saint Mary's Wilderness? The Saint Marys Widerness is 23 miles south of I-64 on the Blue Ridge Parkway (23 miles south of the southern end of Shenandoah N.P.)” 3:13:54 PM 9/23/01 RE: Virginia, Sept. 27th. “Cool That may be closer than Cranberry Wilderness for me. If I had to guess, I'd say about 250 miles from here. Nice place, huh?” 3:18:11 PM 9/23/01 RE: Virginia, Sept. 27th. “I would guess 3.5 +/- hrs. Beautiful area.” 3:21:33 PM 9/23/01 RE: Virginia, Sept. 27th. “Hmmmm, let's see....... 3.5 hours, at 100 mph.....
