Old slick Therm-A-Rest
I have a Therm-A-Rest pad made from slick nylon. I use a nylon bag and keep sliding off the pad. Long ago, Them-A-Rest made a tacky, spary-on material to help this. REI says they stopped selling the spray three years ago. Has anyone found a substitute for the spray at the hardware store?

Ah, the long lost "Slip-Fix". Talk about your toxic fumes, LOL! I sent a msg to the Thermarest folks asking about it and this was the reply:

No more. Look for "Racquet Grip", "Seam Grip" or use bathtub decals. Thanks

RE: Old slick Therm-A-Rest
Put it in a chair sleeve kit. No more slipping and you get a chair to boot.

RE: Old slick Therm-A-Rest
Dab small dots of seam sealer over the pad...let dry prior to using.

I think that Home Depot or Lowes might have something like rubber cement in a spray can. I used it once to tack down a section of peeling wallpaper over the stove that refused to stay put. The moisture kept making the wallpaper peel, but this spray stuff stopped that. You just sprayed the underside of the peeling wallpaper and the wall, waited for it to dry and smoothed it into position.

I like the SeamGrip idea. I may have to try that.

use a 12" square piece of no slip foam net, made for cabinets. really light and useful for drying cookware, too!

Strips of friction tape run widthwise. I mean to do this but always forget till I wake up on the ground!

I used a therma-rest one time and never again for this same reason. I may have to try it again with that seam sealer trick.
