“I'll be backpacking the Virgin River Gorge on Oct. 6,7 in Zion National Park. This is the 3rd year in a row that I've gone on the 1st weekend in Oct. It's the perfect time of year, the water is at it's lowest and the fall colors in the canyon are amazing!”

At least we had the pleasure of spending three days out in a backcountry hot spring.

No noise, beautiful weather, aspens turning gold, away from the terrors of last week.

Despite the respite I'm still as pissed as I was the day after the disaster.

The trip was great, but reality stays the same.

No more trips until next May when the snow melts off above 8,000 feet.”

Nov. 9-11, Sipley Wilderness, Alabama (maybe)

November sometime: Ozarks

December 1-9, Olympic National Park (WA), coast then rainforest to snowline

January 25-27, Ozarks ECT (AR)”
