Anybody in the market for a 1999 F-150, full bed, extended cab. For a "little" extra, I'll throw in the pop up camper, which is a handyman's special. ;-)

Truck driven in snow by teen hotdog, so there a a couple of discrete dents. Also got egged once.

calnatv- Jeez, I must really be out of touch, too. I don't think I know anyone that got less and I think that the IRS put out a schedule of when you'd get your refund on their site. They even told you how much you'd get.

Bought a new car last week, does that count?

Now is the time for a new car. I saw both Ford and Chevy are offering 0% financing. I'll hold on to what I got though.

skiracer....
most honda models (accord, civic, acura, odyssey) are designed and manufactured (as well as assembled) right here marysville, ohio....the engines are cast and machined at our anna, ohio engine plant....i work for the engineering division that builds all of the body panel stamping dies....we also setup and debug the robotic welding lines....honda employs 10,000 folks here in ohio, so you can safely say that your honda is MADE IN USA BY AMERICANS....

I worked for Hona years ago picking parts at the Troy warehouse. Honda has done a lot for the towns they build factories in. They enrich the local diversity with their culture, the production of cars demands many, many other subsidiary companies creating even more local work, many other companies follow Honda into the areas they come to, and even though the profits go back overseas they do raise the local economy.

read the last sentence of that story. Millions of Americans got nothing or a partial refund. Bush promised everyone $300. You ARE out of touch calnatv.

a lot of the profits stay right here in the form of employee profit sharing....honda also has been investing heavily in new factories and machine tools so as to remain competitive with the big 4....we are committed to remaining an independent company, rather than merging with one of the other automakers....we are also expanding our position as the world's largest manufacturer of engines....

I'd love to test drive one of their hybrid cars. Uglier than sin but at 70 MPG I'd leave the Jeep in the garage and save it for winter.

RE: All right: Everyone smile and spend money.
gonzo/Nigal- good to know that. I guess that Honda EX V6 purchase has more trickle down to the American economy than I realized.

Spock- Bush never promised $300 for every American. You are out of touch. "...a new round of tax rebate checks focused on those who didn't qualify for a check this summer..." per Spock's reference.

Check out Internal Revenue Service and click on "Advanced Payment News." It's not a refund on taxes paid in 2000. It's an advanced tax credit for taxes paid or to be paid in 2001. Your check amount was based on your income per your tax return for 2000. People who have tax situations that allow for a higher refund based on taxes paid in 2001 will receive that in the form of a tax credit for 2001.

Get informed, get a grip, get in touch and get your facts straight, Spock.

The amount you got back was based on how much you paid in, as in, how much you actually worked that year. Dang! Go figure! Another dumb American loop hole based on hard work! Bastards...

My wife and I are proud that we got the full $600 we were allowed and we promptly went out and blew it putting it right back out there.

gonzo, I used to sell Hondas. All of the buyers thought the cars were made in Japan. Like you said, they came from Marysville.

Skiracer, Hondas are great cars. I've spoken with many owners that have gotten 100,000 - 200,000 miles on theirs. I have a Honda Accord.

I will not be driving the Honda much, but I agree...it's a great make of automobile. We'll be selling a Civic EX with 135,000 miles on it. At 135,000 miles, it's just started to get broken in....for a Honda.

The "Mother Earth News" I read last night had an article on a Honda hybrid. 60+ mpg and not much over 20k. That's reasonable enough to be sucessfull.

Just dropped some dosh at REI on some goodies, small but satisfying. Lessee....

2 titanium Snow Peak sporks. AWWWWWWWSUM. Not more melted tines and only one utensil needed.

A bottle of polar pure water treatment tablets. Hey, do you guys keep that stuff in the glass bottle or transfer it into something else?

Some ripstop repair tape.

Weather proof matches (REI brand). I tried a couple out. They don't seem to have the longest burn time of other matches I tried but they were cheap and work like hell. Sometimes, lighters just don't cut it.

Some new fly waterproofing recoat for my tarp.

Last but not least, a new thermal mug as my old one blew out. I wanted the stainless steel double walled but they didn;t have it in stock so I settled for the REI brand insulated mug. I poured boiling water into it to see if it leached out any plastic nasties. The water tasted fine.

See! I'm doing my part to stimulate the economy!!!

It's a litle narrow one, Joy. I think I read it's 7.7 ozs. Coleman has a nice one at Campmor that I will eventually get. Are you thinking about the big ole coffee mug they have? RE: All right: Everyone smile and spend money.
Don't get too excited, Joy. When I started at REI, we could get stuff for ten cents on the dollar on everything. Then management took that away and angered the workforce. To appease employees, management trotted out the 50% off REI label deal. But they are still making money on that price reduction because stuff is so marked up. Point is: don't be surprised when REI management takes away or reduces your benefits, because they have and will.

I have never seen more negative statements, thoughts and energy from one person. It really has me wondering...does someone p!ss in his Cheerios every morning? Personally, I think I would change breakfast foods or protect my Cheerios. Life is just way too short.
